Events Volunteers: As an events volunteer, you provide behind the scenes support to help our events run smoothly. Volunteers facilitate important friendraising activities and provide logistical assistance for special events. Events typically take place on evenings and weekends. An ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills with specific attention to detail and experience working with diverse populations.
Guest Speaker Volunteers: As a volunteer guest speaker, you engage in programs by presenting or participating in speaker panels at a group program. Girls Group understands the power of storytelling and invites community members to connect with our participants by sharing their strengths, wisdom, and personal journey. Meetings take place at schools in the morning or afternoons Monday through Friday. An ideal candidate will have experience working with youth and interest in sharing their knowledge with participants.
Tutoring Volunteers: As a volunteer tutor, you can provide invaluable support by facilitating individual or small group tutoring sessions in the community with Girls Group participants. Volunteer tutors will work with participants on homework help, projects or assignments, and test preparation. Meetings take place at a local library on afternoons Monday-Friday. An ideal candidate will have experience tutoring and interest in working with youth.
