Jan served as a member of the Girls Group Board of Directors for over 10 years and as Vice Chair for seven of those years. Throughout her tenure, she brought joyful energy, thoughtful leadership, and unwavering commitment to our mission. Her networking, persistence, wisdom, and sense of humor played an important role in helping Girls Group grow and thrive, while her mentorship and encouragement strengthened both our organization and the people who lead it.
An accomplished educator, entrepreneur, and community leader, Jan devoted her life to helping others learn, grow, and succeed. She was the founder of Aristoplay, an award-winning educational game company, and Learning Express, an educational toy store, and served in leadership roles with numerous community organizations throughout Ann Arbor. She brought that same spirit of creativity, curiosity, and generosity to her work with Girls Group.
