Passionate About the Future

October 2023

Take it from Girls Group staff—work doesn’t have to feel like work when you love your job! This month, 9th and 10th graders reflected on their hobbies, passions, and interests and discussed how they translate to academic success and future careers.

“Being a teenager and being expected to make big decisions that will impact your future career, like your college major, is so daunting,” a staff member shared. “Exploring options based on interests is a great place to start because it can help narrow down your options.”

“I think I might be interested in something in the medical field,” one participant decided. Meanwhile, after an informative conversation about dual degree programs, another group of participants agreed they would all enjoy majoring in social work and public policy. The session provided a great starting point for participants to reflect on their interests, learn about different career options, and explore what it will take to reach their goals.
