For young people entering adulthood, there are seemingly endless new challenges to navigate! This month, Girls Group College & Career participants talked about landing their first job. Participants drafted resumes and used them to conduct speed job interviews.
During the interviews, the group members took turns playing the role of the prospective employee and employer. “I loved how interactive the interviewing was and to think about both the mindsets of the employee and employer,” one participant shared. After practicing the skills, participants gathered to discuss their takeaways from the activity.
“You have to balance being yourself while convincing the interviewer why you’re the best for the job and why you should be given the opportunity to be hired,” a participant reflected.
