Over spring break, Girls Group participants had the opportunity to explore four diverse college campuses across Ohio: Oberlin College, the University of Toledo, Central State University, and Wilberforce University. Each visit offered valuable insights into academic programs, campus culture, and student life.
The first stop was Oberlin College, where participants learned about the wide range of majors offered, along with the school’s admission and graduation requirements. They were particularly excited about the unique academic programs, study abroad opportunities, and the strong presence of music and the arts throughout campus. The following day, the group visited the University of Toledo, where they received an informative session and campus tour. Participants also enjoyed food vouchers, which gave them a taste of campus dining. In the afternoon, they traveled to Central State University, an HBCU, where the campus tour was led by an energetic guide who shared an engaging look at student life. On the final day, the group visited Wilberforce University. The visit provided a personal view of the Wilberforce community with current students.
The group also participated in a variety of fun and community-building activities. Highlights included an exciting arcade night, a trip to the mall, and an energized game night. It was a week filled with growth, learning, and fun, as students gained valuable insights into their future college options while forming new friendships along the way.
