NaKara is a College & Career Program Specialist supporting 11th and 12th grade students to prepare for their future at Girls Group. NaKara earned her B.A from Michigan State University in Human Development and Family Studies in 2021 and her MSW degree from the University of Michigan in 2022. Prior to joining Girl’s Group as a staff member, NaKara has various clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. NaKara was an intern with Girls Group Middle School programming. NaKara also has experience in pediatric healthcare settings and as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist. NaKara’s roles and responsibilities at Girl’s Group include providing a therapeutic and safe space environment, empowerment, furthering skill sets, and supporting our participants in securing their goals, careers, and aspirations. NaKara is passionate about being a resource to disadvantaged youth and assisting them to be the best that they can be! In her spare time, NaKara enjoys dancing and spending time with family and friends.
