Janessa Monahan is a Program Coordinator for Girls Group. She earned her BSW degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2018. In 2020, she graduated from the University of Michigan where she received her MSW degree, with a concentration in Community Organizing and Mental Health. Janessa’s work experiences include the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, Ford Early Learning Center, and Milan High School’s Adult Education Program. She is passionate about equal rights and helping young people find their voice to stand up for what they believe in. During her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga, binging Netflix shows, and spending time with her siblings (who are considered her best friends). Janessa is eager to work with Girls Group participants and empower them to be the best version of themselves.
